Allergies


This animated video reviews allergies. Allergies are commonly caused by environmental antigens such as tree pollen and dust mites. Sun Safety Tips-Skin Cancer


Dr. Andrew Werchniak of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston discusses the importance of sun safety. A broad brim hat can limit exposure to the head. Sun Block with an SPF of atleast 15, but more importantly re apply frequently. Also, avoiding tanning beds, which increase risk of skin cancer.

Skin Cancer Biopsy


Dr. Coyle Connolly demonstrates a biopsy of a suspected skin cancer. He discusses why it is important to biopsy any lesion which is suspicious for a skin cancer. Basal cell carcinoma is the most common skin cancer and appear as pearly, non healing lesions. A shave biopsy can remove the lesion and diagnose the cancer.
